
Meet the Founder
Jack Ryan is the founder and principal of Jack Ryan Advisory, a firm he founded in 2025. He is a global business leader with over 35 years of experience in operations and human capital across multiple industries and stages of growth from "start-up" to late-stage restructuring. Before the launch of his new firm, Jack was a top leader in the formation and development of Rockefeller Capital Management. He joined Rockefeller in 2018, shortly after Greg Fleming and Viking Global Investors LP. purchased Rock & Co., the longstanding family office of the iconic Rockefeller family.
Jack served as CHRO and then COO/CAO for over six years with responsibility for various business units and several functional organizations over his tenure. He was instrumental in creating new client offerings, including the build-out of a Lifestyle Advisory Platform and Financial Education curriculum. During Jack's tenure at Rockefeller, the firm grew from $17B in assets to over $160B, from 180 employees to over 1,500, and from 3 offices to over 50 across the United States and London. Jack holds his Series 7, 24, and 66 licenses.
Before Rockefeller, Jack had a 29-year career at GE, culminating in leading the firm's executive and leadership development programs, Diversity, serving as the Chief Learning Officer, and leading the world-renowned Crotonville Leadership Institute. For six years prior, he served as the CHRO for GE's financial services business, GE Capital. He also spent 20 years leading international teams in GE's Industrial companies, including five years as the CHRO at GE Aviation. Jack graduated from General Electric's Human Resources Management Program and has a bachelor's degree from Cornell University. He was a letterman on the 1988 Ivy League champion Cornell football team.
Jack is the Chair of the Board of Advisors for the Love School of Business at Elon University. He has been actively engaged in the community throughout his career, with a focus on youth development and supporting underserved communities. He is an active volunteer at the Open Doors Shelter in Norwalk, Connecticut. Jack is a former member of the Board of Directors for Auburn Seminary, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston, the Carver Community Center in Norwalk, Connecticut, and Bridges for a Just Community in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Jack is married to Dr. Tricia McDonough Ryan, and they have three grown children, Patrick, Jackson, and Mae. He enjoys spending time in Wrightsville Beach with his dogs and family, as well as visiting Ireland.
